Tom Wolf

Tom was born in York, Pennsylvania where he resides with his wife, Frances.  Tom received his BA from Dartmouth, his MA from the University of London, and his PhD from MIT.  While a student, Tom served in the Peace Corps on agricultural projects in rural India.

After his graduation from MIT Tom became CEO of his family's business and increased the company's productivity to be the largest supplier of kitchen cabinets in the United States.  In 2006, Tom was appointed by Governor Ed Rendell to serve as the Secretary of Revenue for Pennsylvania.  As Secretary, Tom protected and strengthened the state lottery allowing for additional benefits for seniors.

In November of 2014, Tom was elected Governor of Pennsylvania after driving hundreds of miles across the commonwealth in his 2006 Jeep Wrangler to meet with families, business owners, and hard-working Pennsylvanians.

The first thing Tom did as governor was to declare that he wouldn’t accept a salary or a pension, banned his administration from accepting gifts, reformed legal contracting to end the pay-to-play culture in Harrisburg, and made his daily schedule available to the public.

Expanding Workforce Development Opportunities

Governor Wolf has forged 28 new partnerships that will train 5,000 workers and added 1,714 new apprentices and 66 new registered apprenticeship occupations statewide.

Standing up to Donald Trump’s Extreme Agenda

Governor Wolf is standing up to Donald Trump’s attempts to gut Medicaid, increase premiums, charge seniors an age tax, and strip coverage from people with pre-existing conditions, women, and seniors.

Restored the $1 Billion Cut to Education Made Under Corbett

Governor Wolf has fully restored the $1 billion cut to education made under the Corbett administration that led to teacher layoffs, larger class sizes, and cuts to important programs.

As promised during his campaign, Tom invested more in education at all levels than any governor before him. He’s restored the misguided cuts of the past administration that devastated our schools so that we can set our children and our economy up for success, and he passed a fair funding formula to take politics out of school funding once and for all.
